About The Library Bookkeeper
Organized. Detail-oriented. Tech-savvy. These qualities have driven my professional life and, as a bookkeeper, inspire me to help businesses build an organized financial foundation that provides clarity and supports confident decision-making. After spending time in other industries, I decided to focus on the skills I do best, and combined with my own desire to become a business owner, The Library Bookkeeper was born.
Most importantly, I value the connections I make while supporting other businesses. Every business has a story to tell, and I enjoy using my skills to become a small part of that story, bringing organization and clarity to the numbers behind it.
My Story
Before The Library Bookkeeper, I spent more than 20 years as a school library media specialist in South Florida independent schools after earning my Master of Science in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University. In addition to managing complex data systems, analyzing usage data, and producing reports, I supported students and adults as an early adopter and trainer of new technologies. As a librarian and educator at heart, I’ve spent my career helping people identify the information they need, find it, understand it, and put it to use. Today, I bring that same approach to The Library Bookkeeper, helping business owners better understand their financial information and use it to make informed decisions.
My undergraduate degree in Visual Communication Design from Kent State University has also shaped the way I work. Organizing information visually is central to effective communication and teaching, and my experience as a designer, photographer, and instructional designer has taught me how to make complex information clear, accessible, and easier to understand. It’s a skill that translates naturally to financial reporting: the numbers are important, but so is being able to understand what they’re telling you.
Looking for a stronger connection to nature, land, and community in Palm Beach County, my family moved to Loxahatchee in 2019, and we’ve loved the LoxLife ever since! My husband, Buckley Griffis, is an educator and percussionist, and together we run his business, The Rhythm Weavers, a music education program focused on sound therapy and building community through drum circles. We homeschool our daughter, Tallulah, who has just started kindergarten, and my stepson, Dakota, is looking forward to his final two years of high school.
Our home and life in The Acreage are among the things I’m most grateful for. The Library Bookkeeper gives me another way to deepen those community roots by doing what I do best: helping local businesses get organized, understand their information, and write the next chapter of their story.
